Employer And Individual Plans

Again, if you are employed, chances are you have access to an employer group policy that offers a dental option.

The individual Texas dental market is another story. There are not that many insurance companies that will offer dental as an “add on” benefit.

As is stands, the Texas health insurance companies that are currently offering dental insurance as well as benefits are World Insurance Company, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Aetna, Humana, and Unicare.

The plans offered by these companies are a more traditional approach to coverage.

Services Covered

These “policies” are generally less expensive than their traditional counterparts. If this option is more appealing you should contact your dentist to see if they have a discounted fee structure in place.

Different Options Now Available

Then there are government supported plans to help those who a financially unable to meet the high costs of dental insurance. These plans come in the form of medicaid and medicare.
